A Poem from the The Heartbeat of One Drum Collection
That We Possess - Viewed 844 Times

September 01, 2003
Both dressed in white beside the stream,
a mother and her child.
We three have often touched the stars
and all the world beguiled.

The rapids’ whitecaps course the rocks
upon which they do sit.
The sparkle in each smile shows,
that love them both does fit.

Connected to the earth and sky,
to the trees and oceans strong.
To them the rose is oft compared,
as melody to song.

Their hair spun gold and auburn red,
lies softly on each heart.
This beauty and her progeny
have made life better start.

So thankful am I now that they
are both a part of me.
The special love that we possess
will ever set us free.
