| Category - Places | | A Poem from the Jetty Views Collection | | I Found A Bit of Paradise - Viewed 282 Times | David Devaney Website June 13, 2010 |
T’was South Southwest of Houston Where the earth and heaven meet That I found a bit of paradise In the sand beneath my feet It is the place where each new day Is different from the last Where beauty comes in rainbow hues And dreams on lines are cast A place where pelicans all soar To greet the morning sun Where dolphins chase the angel fish When they are having fun Where starlight shines forevermore And fantasies come true An always special friendly place With skies forever blue It is the place where sugar sands Across the dunes all blow When winded by the southern breeze Like ghosts they silent flow The place where love is treasured more And cherished as if gold And where the fragrance of the sea Cannot be bought or sold It is a place of harmony Of sanctity and hope Where angels come when in between So they with time can cope It is the place where everyone Can surely choose to be A heart and mind and spirit pure Fulfilled with ecstasy
