I am always left behind myself
The teardrops moist and sure
Reflections of an empty life
The mirrors I implore
No time to simply be myself
I’m lost in never land
Beneath the darkened empty sky
Forever I will stand
I’ve always been pursuing there
Reflections of my dreams
Reflections of my life unfurled
In time it always seems
Never finding who I am
The image always fades
Pursuing these reflections
Of who I want to be
At times I always wonder why
I never find my way
Becoming someone else’s pawn
No me is on display
I’ve given up my energy
Pursuing foolish gold
But never are these dreams my own
My story’s never told
I’ve always been pursuing here
Reflections of my dreams
Reflections of my life unfurled
In time it always seems
Never finding who I am
The image always fades
Pursuing those reflections
Pursuing my reflections
Pursuing these reflections
Of who I truly am
