A Poem from the A Bit of Jersey and the Shore Collection
Silence - Viewed 997 Times

October 05, 2002
Silence is a treasure rare
so few appreciate.
When the sun does break the dawn
no noise is at our gate.

The wind upon the cresting surf
allows no sound to flow.
The birds in flight so high above
bring voices we don’t know.

The fish that swim so deep below
in fathoms silently.
Do speak in tongues not understood
by all who hear and see.

So many things do quietly
exist upon this earth.
If only we could realize
this joy begins at birth.
